the homework i submitted for my general psychology class:
1 I like how my medulla helps my body
To breathe, beat, circulate;
And how the pons is just above
To sleep and stimulate.
2 I like how the reticular system is
Important in attention;
And cerebellum for fine motor movements
Which is important to mention.
3 I like how my thalamus
Sorts out sensory information.
Without it I might kick you hard
Without any hesitation.
4 I like how my hypothalamus
Controls when I eat and drink.
Without it I would be so fat
That when I swim, I sink.
5 I like how my hippocampus
Forms long-term memories
To help me remember the many terms
When I study for LTs.
6 I like how my amygdala
Can process for me my fear
Or else you would see me frightened of
Good pulutan and beer.
7 I like how there are four lobes,
Not one nor two nor three.
For if my brain get hurts so bad,
More chance to function properly!
8 I like how the cerebrum is divided
In 2 wrinkly parts—
Left hemisphere for logics
Right hemisphere for arts.
9 I like how the corpus callosum
Connects the left and right.
I might neglect to shake a hand
And get into a fight.
10I like how the parts of my brain
Are where they are right now.
Imagine voluntarily breathing
And involuntarily peeing around!
me trying to be creative in psychology

in deep crap
have a secret that you tell all your closest friends?
except you keep that specific secret from that specific person?
so you like this girl--forking in love--and you want to get close.
BUT let's face it--
you are no where near alike.
you have absolutely nothing in common.
she doesn't notice your small acts of caring--heck, she doesn't even notice you.
she likes someone else:(
your parents will disown you.
the world is going to end if you actually succeed.
nonetheless, you try to make her interested.
you're naturally shy, but you'd do anything to make her feel the same way about you.
what better way to keep her interested?
you try to strike up a conversation.
you think about something to talk about, but things end up getting awkward.
you start to panic--don't know what to say, don't know what to do.
and BAM, you have this brilliant idea.
"why don't i tell her about my secret? at least a part of it."
"i'm going to tell her that i'm liking 'someone'"
it's the perfect topic that will get her curious AND keep her close.
so you start telling this girl that your liking someone, just so you could start up a conversation.
so your master plan starts off smooth.
it's actually going great.
you text each other nonstop.
you messenger each other nonstop.
your conversations branches out.
you talk a little about you.
she talks a little about her.
you're practically best friends.
but eventually the simple question pops up.
"so who's this someone you were talking about?"
you insist that it's a secret, but everybody else knows--of course, except her...
number 1, your "relationship" is like a virtual pyramid held up by virtual blocks and constructed by virtual people. and it stays virtual.
number 2, don't hesitate to cry...ALONE, never in public if this is the scenario--it should be forever alone. remember the meme: FOREVER ALONE.
number 3, if your reached this line, chances are, you can't do this alone. you have friends, talk to them:D
a lot of it, i didn't experience myself, but "number 3" is very dear. i asked help from friends to hear me out and give me advice because you'd be ignorant to a lot of things that you do. you would want another person to tell you how crazy you're acting.
friends are <3. treasure them, and love them back the way they loved you.
what an emo post

the XYZs of love
If you're reading this blog, chances are, you're out to get that girl, and you want some help. I admit that I'm in no way a pro with regards to matters of the heart. I just think there are a lot of things teenagers (I've seen older) misunderstand or take for granted when dealing with love, and I want to say something about it.
I'm a guy, and obviously, I'm going to explain from a guy's perspective. I don't mean to offend anyone with the things I'm going to write. If you disagree with the things that I say, I'm perfectly fine with that. Criticism is good, but please don't be an ass about it.
What is love? This question boggles my mind--and heck, boggles yours. People have come understand it differently, and there a lot of stances out there with regards to its definition. For me, any attempt to define it is definitely too biased for my liking. I guess it's just one of those words that you understand, but you can't really explain.
I do believe, however, that love has many different types, although I don't want to be too technical and talk about eros, philos and agape. I want to keep this entry simple.
I want to focus on the idea of "falling in love." It's something that we often mix up with the love of our parents--which is obviously different. Falling in love is the fad that never dies down. We just can't seem to keep our hormones in check. It's the miracle drug that you keep coming back for more. As empirical as I can get, I've never encountered a formula for love. I've never been successful in making my own. In short, I can't teach you how to get that girl you've been liking all this time. I can't tell you what to do.
I can tell you, however, what not to do.
First, don't stalk the person. It's creepy--as simple as that.
Second, don't start believing everything you think--like how you obviously like the same stuff or how much you complement each other so well--chances are, you're making it up.
Third, don't act like you're already together. It's normal to be jealous if you see that person with another guy, but do so in a normal manner. Don't do anything crazy like acting all defensive and possessive. She's human like you, respect her.
Fourth, don't just think about your needs--think about hers. Ok, this one sounds off. Let me explain. Chances are, she doesn't see you the same way you see her. She doesn't feel the need to text you as often as you text her. She doesn't feel the need to reply to every e-mail/text/facebook mail/etc that you send her--especially the ones that are not even questions. Place yourself in her shoes. Try to evaluate your actions.
Fifth, don't act like she's your wife. Contrary to your popular belief, she's not. Greeting her goodnight is ok. Anything beyond that might be a bit too much. Caring for her is good--acting like her husband is not.
The list goes on. I think you get the point. Be what you used to be. Don't try to be someone your not. Don't sacrifice your individuality. Salvage what dignity you have left if you've tried the things I mentioned and got turned down for it.
Ok, so I lied. There are some things that you can do. BE HER FRIEND. Good job Captain Obvious. Yes, be her friend. The reason why you reached this point of the entry is probably because you have utterly failed in your quest for love. You have tried all means necessary to get that girl. You have tried every trick in the book.
But she might just be that different type of girl. Let me tell you, you would want to start out as friends. You would want to have something to stand on. Give her a chance to know who you really are. Who knows? You just might be a happier person with that person as a friend.
I just ran out of creative juice. Feel free to comment:D
